The Full Picture

Hello! My name is Sumi and I am a filmmaker specializing in Lighting and Location Audio.

I am unionized with IATSE Local 873 and CBC Studios as a Lighting Technician and I do Location Audio all under Mustang Media Productions.

Growing up I was always exposed to mechanics and robotics due to the wishes of my parents to become an engineer. So that's what I majored in high school. As an extracurricular, I decided to participate in the school news and that's where my passion for film started. I felt like I belonged in that group because I was very creative when there were technical problems running the show.

I changed my field of study in my last year of high school and went into the arts. I combined my passion for film and my hobbies for cars and did location audio in 2019 for a Documentary called "Canadian Sprints" One of my favorite experiences I have had in my filmmaking career.

I have since worked with consistent clients such as Porsche Cars Canada, Audi, and Sheridan College practicing Location Sound and Lighting.

I specialize in Location Sound and Lighting. I have experience in Theatre, Studio and On-Set environments. I am a technically driven individual that learns new gear easily.

My audio work is spread out between live streams, commercial and indie productions. I have experience as a recordist, boom op, and location mixer.

I have worked with industry-standard lighting gear in correlation with IATSE and CBC which gave me the knowledge of rigging light fixtures up to 18K housings safely and with ease. I have a clean and safe workflow with power distribution and cable management that is always visible when I am on-set.
